Important developmentsDiscontinued use of watermarked paper for official copies issued in paper formLand Registry has reviewed its use of watermarked paper for official copies issued in paper form and, after careful consideration, has decided to discontinue its use. This will apply to all official copies - the register of title (including title plans), documents kept by the registrar and referred to in the register of title, other documents kept by the registrar and relating to an application, and the register of cautions against first registration. The Land Registration Act 2002 and Land Registration Rules 2003 do not prescribe the form of an official copy and although it has been our practice to issue paper official copies on watermarked paper, there is no statutory requirement for this. This change will be phased in as our stock of watermarked paper is used up. For more information, please read our:
